Zikaron BaSalon with Survivor Eve Boden, LCSW

Holocaust Survivor Eve Boden

ASHER was honored to host a Zikaron BaSalon gathering in Englewood, New Jersey featuring Holocaust survivor Eve Boden, LCSW.

Born in Mannheim, Germany in 1935, Eve was deported to a detention camp in the French Pyrenees and later sheltered in a Catholic children’s school. She was ultimately able to leave Europe in 1942. Her parents were murdered that same year in Auschwitz.

Despite the profound loss she experienced, Eve built a rich life in the United States filled with family, friendship, and purpose. She later became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and spent many years supporting others through her work. Eve shared that her experiences during the Holocaust deeply shaped her ability to show compassion and empathy for those she helped.

During the evening, Eve emphasized the importance of education in confronting hatred and preserving memory. Her message was clear: “Educate people as much as possible, because that’s the only way that antisemitism will ever be squashed… through education and knowledge.”

ASHER extends sincere thanks to Jessie Orbach for graciously opening her home and to Stephanie Pomerantz and Nicole Pines Lieberman for hosting the gathering. Through our partnership with Zikaron BaSalon, ASHER continues to bring survivor testimony into homes and communities across the United States.
